The last major fire in the Far East was extinguished today in Yakutia. This is reported by Roslezkhoz in Telegram channel. Two fires are still being extinguished in the Siberian Federal District: in Tyva and the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

“At the moment, all forest fires have been extinguished in the Far East, there is not a single fire,” the ministry said in a statement. This year, fires have affected an area of 2.27 million hectares, which is 3.8 times less than the area of fires in 2021 (8.6 million hectares). According to Ivan Sovetnikov, the head of Roslezkhoz, this was achieved thanks to an increase in air patrol hours and the length of land-based forest control routes, an increase in the staff of forest firefighters, as well as updating the fleet of special equipment.

Earlier, on August 26, it was reported that the area of forest fires increased throughout Russia on more than 12 thousand hectares, up to 122.5 thousand hectares. The largest fires are in Yakutia, where 74,667 hectares were covered by fire. Also, large natural fires were recorded in Komi (15,722 ha), Ryazan (14,000 ha) and Nizhny Novgorod (6,500 ha) regions and in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (6,992 ha).

On the development of the situation – in the publication “Kommersant” “The fires took in the ring of defense.”
