Alfa-Bank provided an opportunity for individual clients to make currency transfers to China in yuan, informed bank press office. The operation can be carried out using bank details for both individuals and companies.

To make a transfer, you need to open an account in Chinese national currency in the bank’s mobile application. The commission for the transfer will be 0.7%, for premium clients of the bank – free of charge. The transfer will take three to five days.

In early September, Sberbank, VTB, Alfa-Bank, Gazprombank and Sovcombank announced their intention to provide loans to corporate clients in yuan and other currencies of friendly countries. The first deputy chairman of the board of Sberbank, Alexander Vedyakhin, noted that lending to legal entities in the Chinese national currency is in “very high demand.”

The managing director of the NKR rating agency said that given the refusal of banks to lend in dollars and euros, there is a potential to replace the corporate loan portfolio, mainly in yuan, up to the equivalent of $50-80 billion over the next few years.
