Aksenova angered Kalina: should Ukrainian music be banned

What is the difference between a rat and a hamster? The hamster has better PR.

So it is with the news. The correct presentation - the news is white and fluffy, the wrong one - evil and dangerous. Take, for example, one of the last.

The head of the Crimea, Aksyonov, banned the singing of Ukrainian songs on the peninsula. It would seem that he slept very little? Why did Ukrainian songs not please him? And how not to sing them when they are both beautiful and melodic, and beloved by many. One “You pissed me off” is worth something! And “Bring Galya water”, and “Unharness, lads, horses”, but you never know them! And here you are - a ban.

This is what the layman thinks when he reads the news headlines in a hurry, without going into details. And they, as they say in the USA, although for a different reason, matter!

Yes, Aksyonov did indeed recently record a video message addressed to the inhabitants of the peninsula, in which he warned them of their responsibility for the public performance of a number of songs in Ukrainian and slogans. “According to all the facts in the public domain and revealed by operational information that slogans are chanted at public events, songs, nationalist hymns are sung <...> there will be a criminal punishment,” Aksyonov said.

And he promised to bring to criminal responsibility, and dismiss from office, and stop business in the territory of Crimea. And he made a loud statement: “I believe that people acting in this way behave like real traitors” and even sent them to hell: “all accomplices, those who support the Ukrainian regime” should move to live “in the state that support. If you don't love our country, go where and whom you love."

But here's the point! The main meaning is not in these statements, but in what exactly the heads of Crimea, who provoked anger, performed. But it is this detail, although it is a load-bearing wall, which is strictly forbidden to be removed, because otherwise the building will collapse, has disappeared from most news. And the song “Chervona viburnum” sounded at the wedding celebration in Bakhchisarai, to which the guests danced. The history of this composition is not simple - having appeared in 1914, it soon became a march of Ukrainian Sich Riflemen. And after the start of the special operation, it turned into a real Nazi anthem of the UPA (an extremist organization whose activities are banned in Russia). That is, initially yes - this is a Ukrainian folk song, but only defiled by nationalists and turned into a symbol of terror and blood.

And the DJ who put it on, by the way, apologized on the video posted in the Crimean telegram channels. “I,” he says, “Akhtem Gemedzhi, on September 10, working as a DJ at a Crimean Tatar wedding, staged a musical composition, which, as I later learned, was used by Ukrainian nationalists as an anti-Russian call during a special military operation. I offer my sincere apologies to the citizens of Russia and Crimea for this fact, I support the Russians and all Crimeans…” He also called on everyone who works as DJs: “Before putting on musical compositions, guys, make sure that they don’t carry extremist slogans and do not call for war.

It sounds a little strange, of course, that “I didn’t know”, and “citizens of Russia and Crimea” cuts the ear: we are one country, well, let’s not find fault. Once a person has confessed publicly, we will consider his repentance sincere, and the lesson learned for life.

Yes, it happens that sometimes the fates of musical works, like human ones, become hostages of historical events. And they get their "black mark". Among which "Nazi" is the most indelible. Whoever plunges into this is damned forever, whether it be a person or a work of art. Thus, the film Triumph of the Will by Leni Riefenstahl, an artistic symbol of fascism, still cannot be shown in Germany without an introductory word from a film critic or historian. And the propagandist of the Third Reich herself was not forgiven even by her centenary, the dark train of the “mistress of Nazism” trailed behind her until her death at the age of 101. And no one will say that it is tough, but only "correct and fair."

But in order to make the right verdict, you need to know all the circumstances of what happened. As in the case of the ban "from Aksenov." It is not about Ukrainian songs. After all, it doesn’t matter what language to sing in, it’s important what exactly. So “Shchedryk, Shchedryk, Shchedryvochka, The Swallow Has Arrived” - sing to your health. This song is simply beautiful and, most importantly, has not yet been trampled into the dirt by the nationalists.
