Aeroflot announced the start of direct flights to Goa from Moscow and Yekaterinburg
The carrier has resumed direct flights from Moscow and Yekaterinburg to the Indian resort state of Goa. For the first time, Russians will fly to the new Goa Manohar International Airport with the IATA code - GOX. This was reported in the press service of the airline.
Representatives of the carrier clarified that the first flights from Moscow and Yekaterinburg arrived in Manohar this morning.
Manohar International Airport is located 35 km from the capital of Goa - Panaji. The modern airport began accepting travelers in January last year.
A former Portuguese colony and now one of the smallest states in India, Goa has a warm climate and calm ocean. Apart from the rainy season, you can swim here all year round; the water temperature in the Indian Ocean rarely drops below 28 degrees. In addition, experienced travelers note the sociability and hospitality of the local residents.
It is reported that during the winter tourist season the airline will fly to Goa from Moscow twice a week - on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and from Yekaterinburg - three times a week: on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Let us recall that in May the President of the Russian Federation instructed the government to increase the share of the tourism industry in GDP by 2030.
“Set the following targets and tasks, the implementation of which characterizes the achievement of the national goal “Sustainable and dynamic economy”: increasing the share of the tourism industry in the gross domestic product to 5% by 2030,” says the document published on the Kremlin website.
