People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Pashutin said he did not understand Kalnin’s hatred for the Soviet era

People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Alexander Pashutin in a conversation with aif.ru stated that he considers the words of the Latvian actor Ivars Kalnins to be a delusion that millions were earned on him in the USSR, since films with his participation collected a huge box office.

It is reported that Kalninsh said this earlier in an interview.

Pashutin, together with Kalninsh, starred in the famous TV series “TASS is authorized to announce”, the films “The Year of the Horse – the constellation of Scorpio”, “The Secret of the Villa”, “The Case in the Square 36-80” and other projects.

The Russian actor expressed extreme bewilderment at the statement of his Latvian colleague, since, as Pashutin noted, Kalnins got everything that he has in life thanks to Soviet directors and their work.

“The fact is that it was our cinema that created his fame,” said the artist.

He explained: “What would he be doing at his Riga film studio?”

Pashutin added: “Who needed them, these actors of the Baltic republics? Who watched their Latvian, Lithuanian, Estonian movies?”

At the same time, he stressed that “thanks to Soviet films, these actors were known to everyone,” since “the Soviet film sales market stretched from Kaliningrad to Sakhalin.”

The actor said about Kalninsh: “I don’t understand what happened to him.”

He also stated that for him personally, “Ivar’s words about the fact that millions were earned on him in the USSR are like a nightmare,” and he perceives them “as a delusion of a 70-year-old man.”
