Acting head of Chukotka instructed to eliminate the shortage of eggs in the city where they are sold by passport

Acting Governor of Chukotka Vladislav Kuznetsov instructed to deal with the shortage of chicken eggs in the city of Bilibino. Local residents of this city complain that, due to a shortage, eggs are sold only with a passport.

“Yesterday I worked in Bilibino. I spent the whole day with the residents of the city … They said that eggs are sold to people only with a passport – the approach is like in the 90s! He instructed to quickly create a supply of eggs in Bilibino, sufficient to meet the demand. Our priority is to produce more products here in Chukotka,” wrote Vladislav Kuznetsov in Telegram.

According to the acting head of Chukotka, a poultry farm is currently being built in Bilibino. However, in order for it to be launched this year, it is necessary to subsidize the purchase of feed. Vladislav Kuznetsov promised to resolve this issue. It was submitted to a meeting of the government of Chukotka – it will be held on June 2.

On the Residents of Bilibino Telegram channel, local residents regularly report problems with the supply of eggs. According to local residents, in February there were long queues for chicken eggs. In April, before Easter, a dozen eggs from Magadan cost 600 rubles in a store. At the end of May, channel subscribers reported that the sale of eggs in one of the stores began at 17.00, and after 20 minutes they were no longer on the shelves. According to residents, a kilogram of local cucumbers costs 800 rubles.

Bilibino is located 1000 km from Magadan. A large primary gold deposit (Karalveem mine) is being developed 20 km from the city. The population of Bilibino is about 5,500 people. By the standards of Chukotka cities, this is a large figure (about 10% of the total population (of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug).
