Acceptance of applications for participation in the Green Card Lottery has opened

The annual green card visa lottery Diversity Immigrant Visa Program (DV-2024) has started.
Each year, the US gives away 55,000 Green Cards to immigrate to the United States. Usually the number of participants in the lottery exceeds one million people. Russians can also apply. Among the main requirements are to be born in Russia or another country included in the list of lottery participants (in this case, citizenship and place of current residence do not matter) and have an education not lower than secondary or a certain work experience.
Participation in the lottery is free. The application can be submitted until 20:00 November 8, 2022 (Moscow time).
Together with the winner, an immigrant visa can be obtained by his spouse (wife) and children under 21 who are not married.
Important: with the start of the Green Card draw, the number of fraudulent sites masquerading as the official website of the US State Department increases dramatically. So you need to be careful: the address of the site on which you need to apply is dvprogram.state.gov.
The lottery winners will be determined in May 2023.
