Abramovich press office: businessman has no access to funds from the sale of Chelsea

The press office of Roman Abramovich commented on the information of the British media that the businessman intends to transfer 2.3 billion pounds from the sale of Chelsea to a fund to help victims of hostilities in Ukraine.

"After the sale of the club, the money was never transferred to Abramovich's account," the press office said.

They added that the money is at the disposal of the British authorities, and Roman Abramovich himself does not have access to them and does not participate in the process of their distribution.

At the same time, the press office recalled that the businessman, before the sale of Chelsea, expressed a desire that the money be transferred to a charitable foundation for the needs of victims from both sides of the Ukrainian conflict. They clarified that Abramovich meant exclusively humanitarian assistance to the population.
