Photo exhibition “Place of Happiness. Sport and Music”, dedicated to the history of the Luzhniki Stadium, will open on December 16 at the Grand Sports Arena. The basis of the exposition of more than 300 photographs was the photographic archive of the Luzhniki Center for Heritage Preservation and Tourism Development, as well as photographic materials provided by the co-organizers InterMedia Information Agency, Kommersant Publishing House and RIA Novosti.

In the sections “Sport” and “Music” you can see photos of legendary athletes and musicians who have been performing at the main stadium in Russia for the past 65 years. Among them are many world-famous names: Lev Yashin, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Valery Kharlamov, Bobby Hull, Alexander Ovechkin, Vasily Alekseev, Usain Bolt, Valery Brumel, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Scorpions, Rammstein, Bon Jovi, Yves Montand, Leonid Utesov, Bulat Okudzhava, Muslim Magomayev. In 1989, the Moscow Music Peace Festival rock festival was held at the Luzhniki Grand Sports Arena, which was attended by over 120,000 spectators. The festival, called “Russian Woodstock”, became the most important event in the musical life of the USSR. In total, more than 3 thousand concerts were organized at the Luzhniki venue. For several generations of spectators, the sports complex has become a place of happiness, where they received vivid emotions from meeting with the stars.
