The Debrief: NASA is investigating a mysterious object that fell in Florida

NASA has joined an investigation into reports of suspected debris from the International Space Station (ISS) falling onto a Florida home, according to an online publication. The Debrief.

A Florida man shared on social media in March that an unidentified object fell on his home in Naples, Florida, breaking through the ceiling and narrowly missing his son. The man published photographs of the object and expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that he could not contact NASA without receiving any response to his requests.

“NASA has recovered the item and is working with the homeowner to conduct an analysis of the item at Kennedy Space Center in Florida to determine its origin as quickly as possible,” NASA spokesman Josh Finch said in a statement.

Interest in the object that fell on the American’s home is growing because at the same time, the US Space Command was “monitoring the re-entry of a battery pack from the ISS over the Gulf of Mexico,” the newspaper reports, citing posts on social networks.

There is no official confirmation yet about a possible connection between the fallen debris in Florida and the ISS.
