The Russian Short Course Swimming Championship has ended in Kazan. Born in Novokuznetsk, the athlete not only won six awards on it, but also again became a record holder.

As the mayor of Novokuznetsk Sergey Kuznetsov said, Arina Surkova, a native of Novokuznetsk, who now plays for the Novosibirsk region, set two new Russian records during the competition. So, at a distance of 50 meters butterfly, she broke her own record and finished with a score of 24.84 seconds. At a distance of 100 meters butterfly, the swimmer showed a time of 56.30 seconds, thus beating the previous record result of 56.39 seconds, which belonged to Svetlana Chimrova.

In addition, Surkova won three gold and three silver medals at various distances.
