A deal for the sale of laughter was held at the Teresa Durova Theater

The Teresa Durova Theater opened its 30th season with the premiere of Tim's Adventures, or Sold Laughter. This time the main stage was given to the young - directors Daria Korshunova and Arseniy Krakovsky, who grew up in the theater in the literal sense of the word (Arseniy comes from an acting family and began to go on stage from the age of three), showed themselves to be students worthy of a teacher - Teresa Durova. From the premiere of the browser "MK".

No matter what people sell, laughter has become a commodity. But not the one that is just in hee hee, but special, like a divine gift. It was about him that the playwright of the theater Artyom Abramov wrote a play based on a well-known plot. Connoisseurs of children's literature should not worry: all meanings are preserved and subtly updated. Well, there is no need to say that Abramov is a master of reprises and slogans: in each of his literary versions you can find a meaningful phrase. In "Tim's Adventures" is this: "Happiness is near - just reach out your hand." But in order to realize its correctness and accept it as the truth, the hero of the premiere performance will have to go through a difficult path. And to know the price of laughter, you have to shed a lot of tears.

The performance of young directors begins with a charming fantasy - an ice cream dance: creme brulee waltzes sweetly, ice cream, like in a circus, flies from backstage to backstage. And not a miserable one or two servings bought with the pennies saved, but a sea of ice cream - either a dream, or the dream of an orphan Tim - the owner of an amazing laugh. His laughter is like a talent, a sign of vitality and solar energy. And for everyone who is nearby - for the good-natured hostess of the confectionery, the knife grinder, the hatter, the butcher, the music teacher, the local gossip and the good-natured tramp who has chosen a bench for the night. But Tim will only recognize the magical power of his laughter when he loses it: it’s true that we don’t keep it, if we lose it, we cry.

But in general, the guy did not lose his laughter, but ... he sold it in exchange for Mr. Trech's tempting offer: he - laughter, Tim - a win in any bet. Winning on the run - yes, please, just have time to put money in a bag, sneak out of prison - yes, it’s easy, but becoming the richest boy in the world is generally a couple of trifles. But in this case, the face will no longer be smiling, but a brick, but here everyone has their own choice - either capital, which provides any whim, or laughter, which helps to build and live, but with a hole in your pocket. The cult of money, which has sharply increased in Russian society, makes such a choice especially painful. Maybe that's why at the evening show, the audience, consisting mainly of children aged 8+ and their parents, carefully and intensely followed the choice and financial adventures of a teenager.

“The story of Tim Thaler attracted me with its dynamic plot and almost detective intrigue,” says Daria Korshunova. - Reasoning about poverty with a smile and immense wealth that does not bring joy. We would really like the audience to think after watching: you shouldn’t grow up too early, you should always keep a child and sincere, open laughter in yourself. Laugh more often, because "he who laughs is saved."

I must say that in a conversation about true and imaginary values, the Teresa Durova Theater has no equal yet: easily, recklessly, without a hint of edification and with humor, in her performances, sometimes bordering on magic shows, she raises eternal themes (her father's house in the Magic Lamp Aladdin, fidelity to the word in the Flying Ship, we don’t throw friends into the Flint). Fantasy, irony, eccentricity, modern rhythm, taste and ingenuity in design, and music serve as the lever for lifting such philosophical "weights" in her theater. Of course, only in live performance.

The first premiere on the big stage of young directors turned out to be sincere, bright, full of young, overflowing energy. She is in music (Sergey Kondratiev), in dances and dynamic plasticity. The costumes of Victoria Sevryukova and the transforming scenery of Maria Rybasova, where an old street with narrow high houses turns into a hippodrome, on the walls of which the most spectacular scene of the performance, the horse race, will sweep through, will help young directors.

The directors decided to give the main role to the debutant Ilya Zakhorzhevsky. At the premiere, the debutant, of course, was worried, but the support of experienced partners quickly helped him get rid of the clamp. Yulia Yunusheva, Anastasia Tyukova (Mrs. Thaler in different compositions) and Rufat Akchurin (Baron Trech) demonstrated the class of the game. Everything is sharp, grotesque, on the verge, which if you go over, a bad caricature will come out and kill all the seriousness of the directors' intentions in talking with children about the main thing - what is happiness and where to look for it.

Trech's impeccably tough drawing turns a wealthy swindler into... a charming scoundrel with a damn infectious laugh - he knew what he was buying. However, in the productions of Durova herself, and now, as we see, of her pupils, every witch or monster will always be left a chance for the sympathy of the audience. In any case, the children are waiting for the release of Akchurin's Trech. Such liberty in dealing with dramatic material is excusable in this case by the desire of the directors to make the brutalized world at least a little kinder. And now the bitchy Mrs. Thaler does not go to Berlin, because "she cannot live without the stupid laughter" of her stepson, and her own son Erwin (Emil Ryvkin, he is also the author of rap compositions), an infantile dulka on a three-wheeled bike, will fall in love with a little postman. The tramp Kristof (Sergey Boroda), always trailing behind the inhabitants of the town ... his soft, as if careless plasticity will tell about him better than any words.

The unconditional find of the performance is two nameless gentlemen in elegant gray suits performing zongs (words by Andrey Usachev). Sergei Batov and Pavel Povalikhin, both with wonderful voices, do not directly participate in the action, as musical commentators lead his characters in search of happiness from the first scene to the last. Happiness, which, as it seems to many, can be easily obtained by buying and selling. And it turns out that it is nearby - in every day, in small things, for example, in playing the trumpet or in hot buns with jam, not cinnamon, to morning coffee and laughter, which will always support your neighbor. As the heroes of the play say: "Happiness is near - just reach out your hand."
