A court in Moscow fined Telegram 4 million rubles. for failure to delete information about the RF Armed Forces
The Tagansky Court of Moscow fined the Telegram messenger 4 million rubles. for failure to delete information, access to which is subject to restriction (Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code), reported press service court.
Interfax with reference to the protocol reported that Telegram Messenger Inc. was fined for failure to remove information from various channels at the request of Roskomnadzor. We are talking about information about the armed forces of the Russian Federation, information aimed at destabilizing the country, as well as information justifying extremist activities. According to Interfax, the RKN also demanded that information about the illegal sale and cashing of Pushkin cards be removed.
In June 2023, the court fined Telegram 4 million rubles. for refusing to remove 32 channels publishing false information about the military operation on the territory of Ukraine. In August 2022, the messenger was fined the same amount for refusing to remove the “Look for Your Own” bot, which discloses data about military personnel participating in hostilities. In February 2022, Telegram paid fines in three court cases regarding failure to remove prohibited information in the total amount of 11 million rubles.
