In Warsaw, miners brought a coffin with portraits of eco-activist Greta Thunberg and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to the EU office. It is reported by ABC News.
Miners staged a protest over an EU directive aimed at reducing methane emissions. Because of this directive, they may lose their jobs.
About 300 miners chanted “Thieves” and used smoke bombs and sirens to draw attention to their protest in the center of the Polish capital.
Due to the action, traffic was blocked on the nearby streets.
