In 1992, Boris Spassky and Robert Fischer met again at the chessboard. The match, organized by the Yugoslav multimillionaire Ezdimir Vasilevich, was held according to the conditions of the American, put forward back in the 1970s: up to ten victories of one of the rivals. The meeting of grandmasters again caused a scandal: at that time, by decision of the UN, an embargo was imposed on Yugoslavia, and participation in a commercial competition was contrary to it. A US court issued an arrest warrant for Fischer, so he stayed in Yugoslavia after the meeting. At the same time, the French government, which formally supported the embargo, made no claims against Boris Spassky.
