54 athletes took part in snowmobile races in NAO

On March 18, Naryan-Mar hosted the 27th snowmobile cross-country competition for the Cup of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Hero of the Russian Federation Artur Nikolaevich Chilingarov.

The races were held in several categories. Men over 18 competed in the “Free” class. Four groups compete in the Buran class: men aged 18 to 39, men aged 40 to 55, veterans, and women aged 18 and older. A total of 54 athletes took part in the races.

In the Buran class among men aged 18 to 39, the first place was taken by a resident of Naryan-Mar, Dmitry Vanyuta, the second place was taken by Andrey Petryashov from Nelmin-Nos, and the third place was taken by Anton Kaliy from Telvisky.

In the Buran class among men aged 40 to 55, the winner was Alexei Popov from Makarovo, who has been participating in competitions since the age of 17 and has repeatedly become the champion of the competition. The second place went to Mikhail Krents, a resident of Telvisky, and the third place went to Roman Ruzhnikov from Kamenka.

Alexei Stremousov from Krasnoye became the best in the Svobodny cross among men. The racer has been participating in competitions since 2020, and today he became a three-time champion. The second place went to Vladimir Pulyaev from Naryan-Mar, Valery Izhemtsev, a resident of the village of Krasnoe, closed the top three.

In the veterans’ race, Vasily Rochev from Kamenka was the first, Valery Khristolyubov from Labozhsky was the second, Anatoly Myandin from Naryan-Mar took the third step of the podium.

All participants of the competition were awarded cash certificates, and the champions received challenge cups.
